Mentor Training Sessions for ITT

LEVEL 2 Subject Mentoring Certificate

You are invited to attend three training sessions aimed at supporting those currently working with trainees or those who intend to become involved in the future. However, because of its generic nature, mentors of NQTS may also find this useful.

Teachers who attend all four sessions and who carry out all of the required tasks will receive a Level 2 Subject Mentoring Certificate. This training has been validated against regionally agreed criteria, and will be recognised through the General teaching Council's 'Teacher Learning Academy'.

As a school, we strive to develop continual and effective partnerships to recruit and train teachers, administrative staff, support staff and teaching assistants. For this reason, we have developed partnerships with several agencies. We work with the three other Norfolk training schools and several training bodies such as the UEA, Scitt and GTP programmes and Anglia Polytechnic University

Training will focus on:-

• The key requirements of each programme
• The key mentoring skills
• The value of the mentoring activity
• Career progression as a mentor
• Effective approaches to learning
• Getting to know the QTS standards
• Observation, feedback and listening skills

Dates - 24th May 2011, 7th June 2011, 14th June 2011, 5th July 2011.
Sessions run from 4.00pm - 6.00pm. Refreshments will be provided
