Masters

Staff members from both Aylsham High and two feeder schools have been working towards a M-Level qualification in Education over the past three years. Those who chose to take part have received tutoring from experienced Anglia Ruskin University tutors on each of the modules followed.

  • Investigating Education Through Research
The module provides a good grounding in basic educational research issues, methods and strategies.
  • Action Enquiry for Institutional Improvement
This module provides an opportunity to implement and evaluate an action enquiry approach that is designed to improve an aspect of teaching, learning, management or leadership within their institution.
  • Mentoring and Coaching
This module is designed to develop appropriate knowledge, attitudes and skills for teachers and other educational professionals undertaking a mentoring and/or coaching role. It explores principles and core concepts of mentoring and coaching as well as associated key skills.
  • Independent Learning Module
This module has two key parts. The first allows students to negotiate an area of study not covered by other modules. The second part requires two educational articles of interest to be chosen and compared.

Those currently involved in M-level are working on a year long Major Project. The Major Project encourages 'students' to be more independent and to utilise what they have learnt in previous modules.

The 'students' studying for the qualification have received funding from the Training Schools East Consortium; comprised of three Training Schools (Aylsham High, Lynn Grove and Notre Dame) and Anglia Ruskin University.
